Analysis of Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the latest treatments that are especially designed for patients to replace a single tooth. The procedure consists of three techniques: the titanium implant, the abutment and the crown.

Patients who have lost a single tooth can look for a fixed bridge. However, bridges may require the cutting adjacent and healthy teeth. This technique also involves an additional cost of replacing the bridges once, twice or even more in upcoming years. Likewise, a temporary partial denture can be used to replace loss of adjacent teeth. According to the dental researches, there is a failure rate of 30% in teeth fitted next to fixed bridges or temporary partial dentures.

In addition, traditional dentures can result in the loss of bone where the teeth are missing. Basically, the natural teeth preserve the jawbone. When a tooth drops down, your jawbone may get weak until you get a grafting bone treatment done. But when a missing tooth is treated with an advanced dental implant, the jaw bone provides complete stability to your jaw, same as the natural tooth does.

So, if you are agitated with your missing tooth, look out for a reputable dentist and get a dental implant treatment done. Smile like before!
